Mankind in God’s Image

Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, “Let us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish of in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God made mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them, male and female He created them.

God made mankind to rule over the animals and to take care of the earth (Genesis 2:15)

You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky,and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. (Psalm 8:5-8)

Mankind was NEVER made to rule mankind.

Barnes Notes says: “He contemplates the objects around him, marks their qualities and relations, conceives and resolves upon the end to be attained, and endeavors to make all things within his reach work together for its accomplishment. This is to rule on a limited scale.”

We are all made in the image of God. We are suppose to help each other and love each other. Also God never intended for the male to dominate the female or vice versa. Both were made in His image and He created them with equality.
